Mikvah
A Jewish Marriage thrives in a Jewish way. G-d commanded us that, because of the sanctity within, we must guard ourselves regarding relations between a couple. The requirement to ensure a pure marriage is to follow the laws of "Niddah".
Niddah is the period following menstruation when a Jewish couple separates. After the wife has immersed in the mikvah, they come together again.
The period of niddah is a time, usually lasting twelve days, when Jewish law forbids conjugal relations. Niddah begins with the onset of menstruation and is completed with the woman’s immersion in a mikvah (מִקְוֶה), a ritual pool of water. The niddah period and the mikvah immersion have recently seen a renaissance of observance in the Jewish community.
